Halloween crochet house made with black granny squares, a pointed roof, white-framed windows, and an arched doorway, with a small white ruffled ghost beside it, for a free crochet pattern.

Assembly

  1. Join four squares in a 2 × 2 arrangement for each side wall, using three solid squares and one open-window square positioned at the upper front. Join the remaining four solid squares into a 2 × 2 back wall.
  2. Sew the front gable to the 30-stitch upper edge of the joined doorway panels. Attach the back gable to the top of the back wall, distributing stitches evenly.
  3. Cut black plastic canvas to fit behind the wall panels, gables, and roof slopes. Cut matching openings for the windows and doorway. Sew the supports securely to the WS, keeping all openings clear and edges smooth.
  4. Join the four walls along their vertical edges, forming a square house with a level, open underside.
  5. Fit the two roof slopes over the gables. Join and reinforce the ridge, then sew the roof to the gable slopes and upper side walls, leaving a small overhang.
  6. Place the separate ghost beside the doorway. Optionally add removable, battery-operated low-heat LED lights inside and around the house. Keep the battery compartment accessible; never use candles or open flames.
