An old-fashioned camping lantern becomes a pocket-size accessory in this free crochet keychain pattern. Sage green rounds shape the wide base and domed roof, while a cream center sits between two curved brown supports. An antique-brass swivel clasp hangs directly above the roof on a short, reinforced yarn loop. The miniature lantern can clip onto keys or a bag zipper without losing the recognizable silhouette of its full-size counterpart.

How the Lantern Takes Shape
Instead of making a separate globe, the body changes color as it grows upward from a flat circular base. A second piece forms the overhanging roof, sewn to the upper brown band beneath its brim so the edge stays free. Two narrow brown strips attach at both ends to frame the cream section, with light fiberfill inside the body to hold its rounded shape. The design relies on close stitches and sewn connections, so no wire is needed.

Notes
• Work the body and lid in joined rounds, without turning. Join each round with a sl st to the first sc. Beginning with Round 2, ch 1 at the start of each round and work the first sc into the same stitch as the join. The ch 1 does not count as a stitch. • Work through both loops unless BLO or FLO is specified. • Change colors after completing the previous round. Fasten off the old color, join the new color at the first stitch, and continue with ch 1. • Keep the round joins at the back of the lantern. Stuff the body only. • Leave the unused back loops of Lid Round 7 free for assembly.
