Introduction to Your Next Favorite Crochet Project
There’s something truly magical about handmade gifts, especially when they’re crafted with love and care. Today, I’m so excited to share a project that combines two of my favorite things: a cuddly amigurumi teddy bear and a beautifully textured baby blanket adorned with sweet little hearts. Imagine this charming duo gracing a nursery, keeping a little one company, or simply adding a touch of cozy warmth to any room.
This pattern is designed to be enjoyable for crocheters of various skill levels. Whether you’re looking to challenge yourself with some amigurumi techniques or simply want to create a heartfelt gift, this project offers a wonderful opportunity to express your creativity. The soft lighting and cozy aesthetic of the inspiration photo really captured my heart, and I know it will capture yours too once you bring this lovely set to life!
Project Overview
This project involves creating two main components: a charming light brown teddy bear with contrasting dark brown ears and paws, and a delightful baby blanket featuring solid pink sections and white borders with pink crocheted hearts. The teddy bear is an amigurumi piece, while the blanket utilizes various stitches to create lovely texture and design. Together, they form a heartwarming set perfect for a baby shower gift, a child’s treasured toy, or a decorative accent in your home.

Intermediate. This pattern requires familiarity with basic crochet stitches, amigurumi techniques (working in the round, increases, decreases), and color changes. The blanket incorporates some textural stitches and appliqué, suitable for those comfortable with following patterns.

Before You Begin / Pattern Notes
- Read through the entire pattern before starting.
- For the teddy bear, work in continuous rounds unless otherwise specified. Use a stitch marker to keep track of the beginning of each round.
- Stuff the amigurumi pieces firmly as you go, ensuring an even shape.
- Gauge is not critical for the teddy bear, but consistent tension is important for a neat finish.
- For the blanket, gauge is important to achieve the approximate finished size. A swatch of 4×4 inches in hdc with your 5.0mm hook should be about 13 hdc x 10 rows. Adjust hook size if necessary.
- When changing colors, complete the last yarn over of the previous stitch with the new color.
