A wide, rounded snout is the first thing you notice on this crocheted capybara, followed by its glossy black eyes and tiny folded ears. The free amigurumi pattern uses beige cotton yarn for the elongated head and small body, with dark brown hands and feet. A fluffy pompom hanging from a narrow collar adds a distinctive finishing touch, while carefully angled embroidery around the eyes gives the animal its gentle expression.

Shaping Its Gentle Expression
The head begins with a seven-stitch magic ring and grows to a broad 63-stitch section before tapering behind the eyes. A separate body, two ears, arms, and legs are sewn into place. The arms and legs are stuffed halfway, then flattened and closed before assembly. The collar is measured as you work so it fits the neck, and the final facial stitches are directed toward the back of the head rather than straight across the tops of the eyes.
